Event Producer

In 1999 and 2000 Bobbie Horowitz was the Executive Producer of the Drama Desk Awards along with Robert R. Blume. She was Associate Producer of this event in 2001.

As Manhattan Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Bobbie co-produced: "A Farewell to Bowie Kuhn", shortly before Bowie Kuhn's passing - with the help of:

  • The New York Yankees
  • Greta Weitz - the late & great marathoner
  • Heather Summerhays Cariou - along with her husband Len Cariou

In the early 80s, Bobbie produced major events in NYC Dance Clubs including Magique, Studio 54, The Red Parrot, The Underground and Visage.

A few of her many events produced at Magique were:

  • "Soap Opera Day!" - "The First Soap Opera Day" celebration - in conjunction with Mayor Koch's Office of Film Theater and Broadcasting - which proclaimed the day of the event, "Soap Opera Day!" Mayor Koch presented a certificate an Honoree Certificate at the event! Mayer Dinkins attended the event honoring Soap Opera Day and put a portion of the video of the event on his site.
  • "The Confessions of Phoebe Tyler" Book Launch for Ruth Warrick: star of "All My Children"
  • "The Mister Bill In Space" Book Launch, in conjunction with Jim Henson Productions
  • The Village People: Bobbie produced and event honoring this well known music performing group. Note: Bobbie became very friendly and remains friendly with Randy Jones (The Cowboy of The Village People) and Bobbie honored Randy in a show in her series "It's Just a Number!" presented at Don't Tell Mama!
